2 Ship Fire Victims At Marina Ancol Increase, Total To 7 People

JAKARTA - A total of two ships at Pier 20, Jalan Dermaga Marina 20, Ancol Village, Pademangan District, North Jakarta, were scorched on Saturday night, February 8.

In the fire incident, one person named Tomi was declared dead. Meanwhile, six other people suffered burns.

The ship fire was reported to have occurred on Saturday at around 22.00 WIB. Officers are still struggling to extinguish the fire.

"The cause of the fire occurred when filling up the ship's fuel then a technical error occurred. Then a spark appeared, causing a fire," said Head of North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, February 9, early in the morning.

The process of extinguishing the fire was carried out by 9 units of fire engines from the North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. There were 23 personnel deployed to extinguish the fire.

"The fire began to be localized at 22.25 WIB. Currently, it is starting to cool down," he said.
