Two Ships Burned At Pier 20 Marina Ancol, Residents Heard Explosions Thought To Be Lightning Sounds

JAKARTA A fire broke out at Pier 20 Marina Ancol, North Jakarta, Saturday night, February 8, 2025 at around 21.30 WIB, scorched two ships that docked.

This incident shocked local residents, especially Ani (45 years old), who lives in Puri Marina Ancol Housing.

Ani initially thought the sound of the explosion she heard came from lightning because it was raining.

"I thought it was a lightning sound, it turned out to be a fire," he said.

Until this news aired, at least 36 North Jakarta firefighters (Damkar) were still trying to extinguish the fire which was still burning.
