Indonesian Badminton Team For BAMTC 2025 Leaves For China
JAKARTA The Indonesian contingent which will appear in the 2025 Mixed Team Badminton Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships (BAMTC) officially departed for China.
A total of 34 people with details of eight male athletes, seven female athletes, five technical trainers, and 14 support teams flew through Soekarno-Hatta international airport to Qingdao via Singapore on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
The men's singles badminton player, Alwi Farhan and his friends departed with a target to achieve the highest achievement in the event.
"It's nice to be trusted to fill the men's singles post in this tournament. Of course I want to give my maximum. Indeed, the preparation time is quite tight, but I must be able to quickly recover and have a mindset to focus here," said Alwi.
This is Alwi's third appearance in all tournaments on this year's calendar. He previously took part in the Indonesia Masters 2025 and played at the Thailand Masters 2025.
When playing in Indonesia, his journey only reached qualifying. He got better results when he came down in Thailand by reaching the quarter-finals.
"At the Thailand Masters, I met senior players. That became my main provision, a provision of confidence for me to play better," said Alwi.
This year, Indonesia did not field the best squad. In the men's singles, names such as Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie did not participate on their trip to China.
The mainstay player in the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung also did not go there. Instead, the number sent Putri Kusuma Wardani and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi.
"My condition is healthy, thank God, I am quite ready to appear. Excited because this is a team match. It has had a very good impact for me to see the results in the tournament before this. Of course, it will increase confidence," said Putri.
Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2025 with mixed team championship format will take place 11-16 February. Indonesia is in Group B with Malaysia and Hong Kong.
