Hamas Frees Ohad Ben Ami, IDF Commander Arrested On October 7

JAKARTA Three Israeli hostages, Eli Sharabi, Or Levi, and Ohad Ben Ami, have been handed over by Hamas fighters to the Red Cross as part of a ceasefire agreement with Israel.

The three hostages were previously arrested through an attack led by Hamas on October 7 in Israel. It is known, one of the hostages of Ohad Ben Ami is one of the commanders of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

Prior to his release, according to ABC News and AFP, Saturday, February 8, Hamas militants gathered in Deir Al-Balah City in the central Gaza Strip.

Two Red Cross officials were present on stage with a Hamas commander for the signing ceremony before the handover.

The three Israeli hostages were then escorted one by one out of the vehicle by Hamas militants and taken on stage. The three of them seemed capable of walking and standing alone. Meanwhile, the hostages' families witnessed the incident on television in southern Israel. They were seen crying when they saw their loved ones.

After interviewing Israeli hostages on stage, the Hamas militants escorted them into three Red Cross vehicles, which slowly drove through crowds.

According to information provided by the Red Cross, three hostages are on their way to IDF and ISA troops in the Gaza Strip.
