4 ABK Thieves 800 Liters Of Diesel Fuel Arrested By Polairud Bali
DENPASAR - The Bali Police Polairud Team arrested four crew members (ABK) from the Sereia Do Mar. The four of them stole diesel fuel at their workplace.
The four perpetrators were named Angga Prasetya (27) alias Bass as the head of the engine room (KKM), Riky Turcahyono (33) as a machinist, Muhamad Ridwan (30) and Siswanto (37) as Oilma.
Meanwhile, Hendra Hariyadi (35) and Imam Masdoeki (50) served as receptacles.
"They committed embezzlement in their positions by taking KMP Sereia Do Mar's diesel fuel from the engine room," said Polairud Director of the Bali Police, Kombes Toni Ariadi Effendi at the Bali Regional Police Office, Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, Tuesday, April 20.
The perpetrators conspired to embezzle the ship's diesel fuel. The embezzlement occurred when KMP Sereia Do Mar sailed from Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, East Java, to Gilimanuk Port, Bali.
The disclosure of these perpetrators began on Monday, April 5. The perpetrators took the diesel fuel on board and put it in the drum and placed it over the hold of the car park.
Furthermore, the fuel is sold to the collectors who also board the ship. This theft was finally discovered by the owner of the ship, PT Surya Timur Line.
"We launched an investigation and immediately succeeded in securing the perpetrators," he added.
Meanwhile, from the results of the interrogation the perpetrators claimed to have embezzled 800 liters of diesel fuel which was divided into four drums. Diesel is sold for IDR 3,250 per liter, whereas the normal price is IDR 5,150 per liter.
From this disclosure, the police developed an investigation and found a container for stolen diesel fuel. Two custodians, Hendra and Imam, were arrested.
"We immediately secured them along with four drums filled with diesel fuel that were transported and five empty drums," said Kombes Toni.
