KKEP Trial Emerged Facts AKBP Bintoro Received More Than IDR 100 Million In Cash

JAKARTA - Former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Bintoro, is said to have received more than Rp. 100 million in connection with the extortion of Prodia's boss's son. The receipt of the money was revealed at the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) trial which was held at Polda Metro Jaya on Friday, February 7.

Not the beginning which was Rp. 20 (billion), Rp. 5 (billion) of various Rp. 17 (billion), yes, the figure is not like that, yes, more than Rp. 100 (million)," said Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam, quoted on Saturday, February 8.

However, the nominal amount that AKBP Bintoro received in the series of extortion or receipt of bribes, Anam said it must be clarified again. This is because the money giver is not present as a witness so that the truth cannot be ascertained

"Whether it's the correct number or not, it can't be clarified again, but the numbers that appear at the rich trial are like that," he said.

Apart from the nominal amount of money and its designation, Anam emphasized that the receipt of money by law enforcement officers from civilians with a certain purpose was a violation.

"What is interesting is that it was explained earlier in the process of examining the money for whether people could havealibi, but the alibi was tested by the ethics trial," said Anam.

AKBP Bintoro and three other police officers have undergone a trial by the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) regarding allegations of extortion or accepting bribes from the son of the Prodia boss. As a result, the former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police was sentenced to dishonorable dismissal or PTDH.
