DENPASAR - Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya gathered consultant generals and honorary consultants from several friendly countries based in Bali to discuss the security of Bali tourism.

"There is currently an increase in the incidence of disturbances in public order and social order that arise, both traffic and criminal acts, which not only involve foreigners as victims, but also foreigners as perpetrators," said the Bali Police Chief, Friday, February 7.

In Bali, continued the Kapolda, it has a unique tourist attraction when compared to other places so that all parties need to be responsible for maintaining their quality.

According to him, Bali and tourism are two different. However, both cannot be separated from each other.

Therefore, the Kapolda emphasized the importance of realizing safe, comfortable, well spending, and oriented to improving the welfare of the Balinese people.

"As an international favorite tourist destination, Bali Island is an Indonesian tourism storefront," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

International recognition such as in the routers' trial awards best of the best released by the tripadvisor travel site, which places Bali in second place out of the 25 best tourist destinations in the world, he said, needs to be taken seriously.

Moreover, he continued, the Bali Province has consistently experienced growth or increased visits to the number of tourists, both local and foreign.

Based on data compiled from the Denpasar Immigration Office, during 2024 the number of foreign tourists who came to Bali Province reached 6,496,539 people. This number has increased by 24.78 percent compared to the number of foreign tourist arrivals during 2023 as many as 5,206,129 people.

Of the various cases that occurred, there were several prominent cases or attracted public attention involving foreigners in Bali during 2024.

"We feel important and need to communicate with friendly countries through their consul. If there are citizens to Bali, they can communicate information, or at least socialize what they should and what they should not," said Daniel.

During the meeting, the Bali Police Chief appealed to consultants to provide information and direction to their citizens regarding the law (do's & don't'ts) and Balinese customs that must be respected and carried out during activities in Bali Province.

In addition, it is important to urge citizens if they are involved in criminal acts or violations of the law either as perpetrators or as victims to be cooperative with officers.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Cok Bagus Pemayun, invited the consultants to look after Bali. Bali's security is not only the duty of the police, but collaboration and participation of all parties, including consuls.

"What we want is quality Bali in terms of tourism destinations so that it is sustainable in how Bali will go forward," he said.
