New York Indonesian Fashion Week 2025 Ready To Be Held With The Theme Of Indonesian Kebaya Love

JAKARTA - Consistently displaying Indonesian fashion in New York is not an easy job. New York Indonesia Fashion Week (NYIFW) producer Vanny Tosignant felt this firsthand.

"To start his passionate enthusiasm.T a fire to be consistent requires passion and love. And the NYIFW team has proven their love for Indonesian fashion and culture because every year they always present new themes. Bringing Indonesian designers who want to spread their wings to New York," Vanny said in a virtual interview, Friday, January 7.

This year, NYIFW will be held on February 14 with a focus on kebaya. "The NYIFW theme this time is Indonesian Kebaya Love. This theme is a form of our support for the Indonesian Kebaya and Kebaya from several ASEAN countries that have been ratified by Unesco as part of heritage," he added.

The kebaya that will be held include Kebaya Noni and Batik belia, from North Sulawesi, Kebaya and Ulos from North Sumetra, by Rijane Lumbangaol, the modern Kebaya by the painting of the Made Dance and we also inserted a design contractary to close our event, the work of designer Ida Wachyuni from Jakarta.

The event will take place in the Pancasila room, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, New York. "We brought about 20 international models, 10 make-up artists and hairstylists from New York and Milan," explained Vanny.

"We are very grateful to Mr. Winanto Adi, the Consul General at Kjri NY and the staff who have supported our event," he continued.

Incidentally, the show coincided with Valentine's Day, so NYIFW also introduced Marine Mutiara and MSME shell crafts from Ambon, as one of the accessories that our models will use at this NYIFW event.
