Malaysian Police Detain 2 Women As Persecutors Of Indonesian ART: Rattan, Iron And Timber Also Confiscated
JAKARTA - The Sentul District Police in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has finally summed up two perpetrators who are suspected of committing violence against Indonesian domestic assistants.
"On April 19, 2021 at approximately 01.30 am, a police team from Section D3 ATIPSOM Bukit Aman raided a house and detained two women," said Sentul Kuala Lumpur District Police Chief, Assistant Police Commissioner Beh Eng Lai in Kuala Lumpur. , Tuesday, April 20th.
The victim is known to work as an ART in Taman Rainbow, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian police did not provide the identities of the two perpetrators, aged 38 and 42.
The 38 -year -old perpetrator is known to be a Chinese national while the 42 -year -old Indonesian citizen. Malaysian police also secured evidence in the form of rattan, wood and iron that were allegedly used by the perpetrator in the heinous act.
"The results of the initial investigation by the police found that the victim suffered injuries and bruises on several parts of the body, namely the face, head, shoulders, neck and legs due to abuse by the employer and assisted by the victim's co -workers or domestic helpers," he said.
According to the victim, he had been working as an ART for 16 months at the employer's house and had not been paid for a year.
"The victim is believed to have been abused as a result of offenses committed while carrying out daily duties. An IPO (Interim Protection Order) from the court has been applied for and the victim is now housed at the Women's Shelter in Damansara," he said.
Now the two perpetrators have been detained by the police for six days from April 19, 2021 to April 24, 2021 for investigation purposes. The investigation letter will be referred to the Head of the Putrajaya Prosecution Division once completed.
The Kuala Lumpur Police advised the community to always abide by the law and together maintain well-being and harmony in Kuala Lumpur.
