Today's Rupiah Is Predicted To Move In The Range Of IDR 16,150-16,350 Per US Dollar

JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate was opened stronger on Thursday, April 9 trading. According to VOI, at 09:24, the rupiah strengthened 0.28 percent or 45 points to the level of Rp. 16,205 per US dollar.

Monex Investindo Futures Head Researcher, Ariston Tjendra said, the sentiment that overshadowed the financial market today is likely to vary between positive and negative.

"The positive sentiment came from the strengthening of the US stock market overnight due to the market response to Trump's speech that the US economy could bounce back after the peak of the outbreak and the possible release of additional US government stimulus," Ariston told VOI.

Meanwhile, negative sentiment comes from the increasing number of global outbreaks that cannot be said to have reached its peak and the possibility of worsening economic data due to the outbreak.

According to Ariston, this morning the rupiah opened higher following the positive sentiment this morning, but the potential for further weakening is still open.

"Today's rupiah has the potential to move in the range of Rp. 16,150-16,350 per US dollar," he said.
