DPR Leader Regrets Negligence Of Schools That Do Not Input Data On Students Registering For SNBP 2025

JAKARTA - The DPR leadership highlighted the polemic about class XII students who were threatened with failing to register for the National Selection Based on Achievements (SNBP) 2025 because the school failed to finalize the School and Student Database (PDSS).

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal regretted the negligence of the school because he did not register his students who had the right to take part in the SNBP until the specified time.

Cucun assessed that the problem was quite serious because it was related to the future of the nation's next generation. Especially because SNBP is an opportunity for outstanding students to enter college without going through a test.

These children have dreams for their future, but become victims because of the negligence of the school. So this is not only a matter of administrative problems, but the waste of one opportunity for outstanding children to achieve their goals," said Cucun, Friday, February.

For information, the Achievement-Based National Selection (SNBP) is one of the pathways for accepting new students to study at State Universities (PTN) which is intended for high school/vocational students who have achievements.

This program provides opportunities for students who excel to continue higher education without having to take a written exam. SNBP is carried out based on the results of tracing academic achievements using report cards and academic and non-kacademic achievements of students that have been set by PTN.

However, due to the negligence of teachers who did not register student data with the School and Student Database (PDSS) until the deadline on January 31, 2025, hundreds of eligible students could not register and participate in SNBP.

Whereas the Ministry of Higher Education for Science and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) as the registration committee for SNBP has provided a long time to fill out PDSS starting January 6. However, several schools that failed to finalize argued that it was difficult to input, constrained infrastructure and networks, and some stated that because student data was affected by natural disasters.

According to the SNBP committee, many schools failed to complete the PDSS because they had just inputted on the last day of registration. PDSS filling near the closing time is said to be often carried out by well-known schools in Indonesia.

"I think all schools must have their own challenges. Even based on the information from the SNBP committee, there are schools whose quality of network infrastructure is more severe but managed to complete their duties before the deadline ended," continued Cucun.

Cucun also hopes that incidents like this will not happen again in the future. He also hopes that children who fail to participate in this year's SNBP can continue their education to their dream colleges.

"Don't erase the dreams of the children because of the negligence of the parties who should be responsible for carrying out this mandate. There must be a future evaluation," said the West Java electoral district legislator.

On the other hand, Cucun appreciates the efforts of the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) which helps schools that have not been able to upload PDSS through various services. The Ministry of Education and Culture has also coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Technology in charge of registering for SNBP.

"Because this concerns the fate of our outstanding children who are future candidates for the nation's leaders. Don't ignore them because of the negligence of the other party," concluded Cucun.

As is known, due to the negligence of the school, many class XII students are threatened with not being able to participate in the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPM) through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP). This situation was triggered because the data on the outstanding students were not registered at the School and Student Database (PDSS) due to school negligence.

Some schools that failed to finalize PDSS included SMAN 1 Mempawah West Kalimantan, SMKN 2 Solo Central Java, and SMAN 17 Makassar South Sulawesi. Even the students at the school even held a protest against teachers who neglected to input their data to PDSS.

Videos during student demonstrations at school went viral on social media. It seems that there are children who cry because they are threatened with not being able to study through the SNBP route as a way to achieve their dream.

Some students unfurled banners with disappointment to their teachers such as Teachers are negligent, we are neglected', 'A Dream taker', and so on.
