Sadio Mane, Big Hearts If Liverpool Cancel Premier League Champion
JAKARTA - Sadio Mane seems ready to accept whatever the Premier League's decisions are, including if the season is canceled and Liverpool are not awarded the 2019-2020 season title.
Liverpool only need two more wins to claim their first league title in 30 years. They have pocketed 79 points from 29 matches while winning 25 points from Manchester City.
But the Premier League, like most competitions around the world, was suspended since last month to limit the spread of COVID-19 or the coronavirus.
It remains to be seen when the Premier League will return as the suspension has been extended beyond early May. There is even a possibility that the competition in Queen Elizabeth will not be continued.
However, Mane insists there are bigger concerns than a title. Namely, more than 83 thousand people died after contracting the corona virus worldwide.
Asked if he felt like a champion already, Mane told talkSPORT: "I don't think so. I like my job and I love football, I want to win on the pitch."
"I want to win games and I want to get trophies, that's what I will like. But with this situation, whatever happens I will understand," continued the Senegalese player.
Mane admits the current situation is difficult for Liverpool. But, he stressed, the millions of people around the world who have lost family members are much more difficult.

"But for myself, this is my dream and I want to win it (trophy) this year. (Title) is part of life. Hopefully we will win next year."
Some players - such as Manchester United defender Luke Shaw - have previously insisted the Premier League must be canceled if the season does not resume.
However, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said earlier this week that he saw no reason to turn down Liverpool's league title.
