Security Reasons, PSIS Semarang Holds A Match Without Spectators During Jamu Persib Bandung
JAKARTA - PSIS Semarang will return to play the match week 22 of Liga 1 2024/2025 with the status of the host. However, for the agenda of hosting Persib Bandung, the match will be held without spectators on the grounds of security factors.
The match against Persib Bandung will be held at the Jatidiri Stadium on Sunday, February 9, 2025. It was later discovered that the club nicknamed Laskar Mahesa Jenar was also being boycotted by its own supporters.
The reason is that the supporters demanded that the CEO of PSIS, Yoyok Sukawi, immediately leave the team. Yoyok is considered uncredible to take care of Laskar Mahesa Jenar.
The cause of the prosecution is because the club is currently considered unstable because it bears a debt of Rp45 billion.

The complicated situation in the PSIS camp is also reflected in the previous match against Dewa United which was also held without spectators. Panpel PSIS revealed that the income from the home match in the midst of the boycott decision from supporters was not comparable to the expenditure of Rp180 million.
In the match against Persis, PSIS was even watched by 723 people. Therefore, the club had to cover up the lack of PSIS home game and the option without spectators was taken in the upcoming match.
"The match against Persib will be held without spectators due to security factors after coordination with the security forces," said the Chairman of the PSIS Implementing Committee, Agung Buwono, on the club's official website quoted Thursday, February 6, 2025.
"Pray for PSIS for the match against Persib so that it can win. Please watch it through live broadcasts on television and streaming on available applications," he said again.
