New "PhotoTag" Trackers With E-Ink Screen Present For Android
JAKARTA - Find My Device Trackers for Android, which are rarely getting new hardware updates, are now bringing interesting innovations with the launch of PhotoTag. This tracker is equipped with an e-ink screen and a number of other interesting features.
So far, only two brands offer Find My Device trackers for Android users. Chipolo sells trackers for items such as key hangers and wallets, while Pebblebee provides trackers for key hangers, goods, and wallets, with tracking launches for larger items such as bicycles coming soon.
However, this new tracker is attracting attention with its unique features. PhotoTag is an item tracker that can work with Find My network for iOS and Find My Device for Android, and the main feature being carried is a colorful e-ink screen that can display additional information.
Users can customize the screen display to display contact details, QR codes, or selected images when the device is in a static state. The red button reads "Contact" will change the screen display to show additional details.
This concept is very smart, especially when it is mounted on a suitcase label or backpack. PhotoTag is also promoted as a great choice for pet trackers, although its size may be rather large for that purpose.

PhotoTag is claimed to have a battery life of about 10 months with a replaceable CR2032 coin battery. This device is also equipped with a metal frame and resistance to dust and IP65 water.
Currently, PhotoTag is only available via Kickstarter, and there isn't much history of this product. It will be the company's first product, and there are some signs of danger. For example, there hasn't been any real promotion beyond social media ads, and some marketing material looks doubtful. Kickstarter's page says that the color e-ink screen only supports four colors, but the images displayed on the page are more detailed and live than they should.
However, if this product is successfully delivered, PhotoTag appears solid. Its Kickstarter campaign has exceeded its $5.000 funding target (Rp.81.4 million) with around US$143,000 (Rp2.3 billion) collected to date. Orders are expected to be sent from April, with an "early bird" discount that allows users to get trackers for US$29, down from the future retail price of 59 US dollars.
