This Is The Reason Apple Hasn't Released AR Glasses

JAKARTA Apple reportedly canceled their AR glasses development project after a number of less impressive demonstrations for executives. In fact, with Vision Pro still struggling to gain sales momentum, AR glasses seem like the next logical step. However, there are several reasons why this product is not ready to be released.

When Vision Pro launched last year, two key criticisms from reviewers were:

Even so, in general, Apple is considered to have succeeded in presenting impressive Vision Pro technology and devices. Many see this device as the future of AR technology, but are still constrained by comfort and price factors.

That way, Apple's AR glasses look like the right answer. However, the project is now canceled.

There are two main reasons that make Apple not ready to launch AR glasses:

Apple is currently still facing difficulties in making Vision Pro light enough for comfortable use.

AR glasses are indeed a dream, but is it realistic in the near future? Not necessarily.

Apple needs to first develop Vision Pro with a much lighter and more comfortable weight to use without having to rely on additional accessories.

Some may ask, "If Apple hasn't been able to make AR glasses yet, why not create a product like Ray-Ban Meta?"

Currently, various smart glasses products on the market offer features that most of them already have by Apple wearables, such as AirPods and Apple Watch.

In fact, several reports say that Apple is developing AirPods with built-in cameras, which can overcome one of the main advantages of smart glasses.

With the features that AirPods and Apple Watch already have, Apple doesn't seem to need to rush into smart glasses until they can actually offer the real AR experience.

Maybe one day, we'll see everyone wearing AR glasses. But, before that happens, technology should develop further to create a product that is truly attractive and comfortable to use.

Less sophisticated smart glasses can be accepted by the market more quickly. However, if AirPods and Apple Watch can already offer most of their functions, will users still want to wear something on their faces?

For now, Apple prefers to continue to improve Vision Pro, AirPods, and Apple Watch, which are likely to lead them to dream of AR glasses in the future but still need time.
