Maluku And Papua Become The National Highest Economic Growth In 2024
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the highest national economic growth in 2024 occurred in Maluku and Papua with growth reaching 7.81 percent.
"The highest growth is in Maluku and Papua which reached 7.81 percent," said Plt. Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at a press conference, Wednesday, February 5.
Amalia said the main source of growth in the islands of Papua and Maluku came from the processing, mining and trade industries. Where the largest economic source in Maluku and Papua is West Papua with a share of 2.58 percent.
Then, Amalia said that the highest economic growth was followed by the island of Sulawesi at 6.18 percent with the main source of growth from the processing, mining and trade industries. Where Central Sulawesi is the area that provides the highest source of growth on the island of Sulawesi at 2.25 percent.
Furthermore, the island of Kalimantan was 5.52 percent, with the main source of growth from mining, construction, and trade. Where East Kalimantan is the area that provides the highest source of growth on the island of Kalimantan at 3.24 percent.
Next, the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara are 5.04 percent with the main source of growth from the accommodation and food and beverages, mining, and trade sectors. Where Bali is the area that provides the highest source of growth on the islands of Bali and Nusra at 2.58 percent.
