Brian May Fears He Can No Longer Play Guitar Due To Suffered Minor Stroke

JAKARTA - Brian May, who told fans that he had a minor stroke suddenly last September, opened up about his fear of never being able to play guitar again.

As is known, the mild stroke made May unable to control one of her arms. Guitarist Queen said the incident was a bit scary, but praised the medical treatment she received.

In a recent interview with Guitar World, May also mentioned her anxiety about not being able to play after her health declined.

"It crossed my mind. When I suddenly couldn't control this left arm, it was pretty scary. I don't know what's going on," said the 77-year-old guitarist.

May also told how initially he found out he had a minor stroke. "I called my doctor and he said, 'OK, I thought you had a minor stroke. Call 999, get into the ambulance and I'll tell you there.'

"However, even at the worst time, even though I can't control where the arm is, I can control my fingers. So I thought, 'I may not really be in danger.' I'm fine now. I just do it slowly.'

During his recovery period, his wife, Anita Dobson, has also shared the latest news with fans. Late last year, he revealed that May had returned to using an injured arm.

For information, this is not the first time May has been in the news due to health problems. In 2020, the guitarist was hospitalized after suffering from a heart attack caused by arterial disease. He told fans he "almost died" after doctors found three clogged arteries.
