Indonesian Public Revenue Reaches IDR 78.62 Million In 2024
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of the Indonesian people in 2024 reached 4,960.3 US dollars per year or around Rp. 78.62 million.
This figure is an increase when compared to 2023 which amounted to 4,919.7 US dollars per year or around Rp75 million.
Acting (Plt) Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti conveyed that the Indonesian economy in 2024 based on GDP at current prices reached IDR 22,139 trillion.
"So GDP per capita in 2024 is IDR 78.62 million or 4,960.33 US dollars per capita," he said at a press conference, Wednesday, February 5.
Meanwhile, per capita income is the total income or state income divided by the population for one year.
This indicator also reflects the level of welfare of the community or a country.
This means that with GDP per capita Indonesia in 2024 of IDR 78.62 million per year, it means that the average salary of the Indonesian people reaches IDR 6.55 million per month.
In addition, Indonesia's economy in 2024 grew by 5.03 percent year on year (yoy), or slowed down when compared to 2023 which was 5.05 percent.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, believed that if Indonesia joined as a member of the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), then the income per capita of the Indonesian people could reach 12,000 US dollars per year, or around Rp. 193 million (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 16,145).

If it is calculated monthly, Airlangga will estimate that Indonesia's per capita income can be in the range of Rp. 16 million per month.
"The current government's ROadmap, in the next 10 years our target is above 10 thousand. Of course we can target higher than 12 thousand US dollars in the next 10 years," said Airlangga in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 29.
