PBSI Holds National Selection 2025 Next Week

JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) will hold a National Selection (Selection) as part of the athlete recruitment program to enter the second phase of the National Training Center (Pelatnas).

This activity will be held on 11-15 February 2025 at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center, East Jakarta. Athletes who can take part in the National Selection are single athletes and doubles winners of the 2024 cadet individual championship.

"However, it is excluded for athletes who have entered the National Training Center. Another requirement is for athletes born in 2006 and after that who are ranked in the top 16 of the national youth group (U-19) as of December 11, 2024 and athletes from the scout team monitoring," reads the statement. Double athletes are allowed to play concurrently in this National Selection. In addition, a double pair can exchange pairs on the condition that the pair is included in the 16th best national ranking and there has been a written agreement between athletes and clubs.

The match system in this National Selection uses a half competition system and is divided into four groups.

From each group will be won and runners-up to advance to the playoffs. Group winners will occupy a predetermined position and group runners-up will be drawn.

"The National Selection is held to monitor the coaching standards of clubs in Indonesia and carry out regeneration processes in all existing sectors," said the Head of the PBSI National Training Achievement Development Division, Eng Hian.

From the previous National Championships, the names included in the National Training Center were Muhammad Yusuf (men's singles from PB AIC Bekasi City), Sausan Dwi Rahmadhani (women's singles from PB Djarum Kudus), Anselmusreagit Fredy Prasetya/Pulung Ramadha (men's doubles from PB Dajrum, Kudus), and Ardita Anjani/Titis Maulida Rahma (women's doubles from PB Djarum Kudus).

In addition, there is also mixed doubles champion M. Nawaf Khoiriansyah/Luna Rianti Saffanah from PB Gideon BA, Jakarta. They have all entered the National Training Center in the first phase summons on December 20, 2024.

The PBSI 2025 National Selection Team was chaired by the Head of Binpres Pelatnas PBSI, Eng Hian. He was accompanied by Deputy Chairperson Umar Djaidi (Head of Regional Binpres) and Mulyo Handoyo (Coordinator of the Coach Team).

Then the members are Hendrawan (PB Djarum), Bambang Supriyanto (PB Jaya Raya), Harry Hartono (PB Exist Badminton Club), and Yoga Ukikasah (PB Mutiara Cardinal).

The criteria to enter the National Training Center are to become the National Selection champion and the results of monitoring the talent team who will choose talented athletes and have special potential. After that, there are stages that still have to be taken, namely health tests, physical tests, psychological tests and IQ tests.
