Airstrike In Iraqi Kirkuk Kills 5 ISIS Members
JAKARTA - A precision air strike led by Iraqi security forces (ISF) killed five ISIS members near Iraqi Kirkuk on January 31.
"The initial cleaning after the attack found several suicide bomb belts and other materials," the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
The airstrike was also supported by CENTCOM forces.
The ISF-led operation is part of an ongoing ISIS eradication operation to deploy ISIS capabilities, dismantling an attack network.
The Joint Coalition - Operation Inherent Resolve (CTF-OIR) Task Force activated the ISF during operations by providing technical and intelligence support.
ISIS remains a threat to Iraq and its surroundings.
CENTCOM, along with its partners and allies, will continue to pursue these terrorists aggressively to protect the territory, CENTCOM said.
