Alvaro Morata Leaves AC Milan To Join Galatasaray

JAKARTA - Galatasaray has signed AC Milan striker Alvaro Morata on loan until January 2026 for 6 million euros. The Turkish club also maintains the option to make the deal permanent.

Morata will receive a fixed salary of 3 million euros for the second half of the 2024/2025 season and an additional 3 million euros for the first half of the 2025/2026 season.

The 32-year-old Spain National Team captain joined AC Milan from Atletico Madrid last summer for 13 million euros on a four-year contract.

AC Milan adviser Zlatan Ibrahimovic explained Morata's departure from the club after only six months at the San Siro.

"Alvaro is a great person and player. I wish him all the best because he deserves it."

"The situation did not go smoothly for different reasons. In football, it happened," Ibrahimovic told Sky Italia on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Galatasaray has an option that will allow them to permanently sign Morata for 8 million euros if they notify Milan in writing before January 15, 2026.

If the Turkish club chooses not to activate the purchase option before that date, they will have the right to extend their loan period until June 30, 2026.

If the loan is extended, Morata will receive an additional 3 million euros for the second half of the 2025/2026 season.

In addition, Galatasaray will have a second option, which will allow them to permanently sign Morata for 9 million euros if they give a written notice before June 10, 2026.

This amount will also be paid in installments six times. If Galatasaray uses this option, Morata will be entitled to a fixed salary of 6 million euros for the 2026/2027 season and 6 million euros for the 2027/2028 season.

Morata started his career with Real Madrid before moving to Juventus in 2014. He helped Los Blancos win the Champions League, La Liga, and Copa del Rey twice each.

While in Turin, Morata brought Juventus to claim two Serie A titles. He also played in the Premier League with Chelsea.
