Police Victims Of Speedboat Explosion At Ternate Bharatu Mardi Haji Proposed To Increase Extraordinary Rank
North Maluku Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Stephen M. Napion stated that members of the North Maluku Police Ditpolairud, Bhatu Mardi Haji, who died while on a humanitarian mission to find two missing fishermen, would be proposed to be promoted to extraordinary rank to Bhayangkara Head (Bharaka).
"In accordance with the order of the National Police Headquarters through the proposal of the North Maluku Police Chief, God willing, we will give the victim Bharatu Mardi Haji an extraordinary promotion," said Deputy Head of the North Maluku Police Brigadier General Stephen M. Napion while visiting the funeral home in Ternate as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 3.
The Deputy Chief of Police said that the National Police certainly respected the services of the deceased who had prioritized the safety of others, but what was the power of the situation, weather and waves at that time, so that an unexpected event occurred in the end.
According to the Deputy Chief of Police, his party tried to strengthen the family of the deceased and expressed deep condolences for the death of their members in carrying out their duties.
In the incident where the speedboat belonging to the Ternate Basarnas exploded, 11 people entered the joint SAR team to search for missing fishermen.
Meanwhile, three victims were declared dead, namely Polairud member Bharatu Mardi Haji and two Basarnas members, namely Fadli Malagapi and Riski Esa, as well as one Metro TV contributor journalist, were declared missing and are still in the process of being searched.
The incident of the RIB 04 speedboat explosion belonging to the Ternate Basarnas that occurred on Sunday (2/2) night in the waters of Gita, Tidore City, Islands. The SAR operation ship is looking for fishermen victims who are declared missing around the waters of South Oba.
Of the 11 victims who boarded the RIB 04 speedboat, seven survived, namely the Head of Ops Basarnas M Syahran Laturaa, Ryan Azur Ali (PNS SAR Ternate City), Hamja Djirun (PNS SAR Ternate City), Darmanto Rauf (PNS SAR Ternate City), Maretang (PNS SAR Ternate City), Bripka Irwan Idris (member of Dit Polairud Polda Malut), and Bripda Putra Nusantara Ruslan (member of Dit Polairud).

The victim has been evacuated to a nearby health facility, then taken to the Chasan Boesoerie Ternate Hospital for medical treatment, while one other victim, Metro TV journalist Sahril Helmi, is missing and is still in the process of being searched.
In addition, the police will conduct an investigation into the accident.
On Monday afternoon, the three victims who died were buried, four seriously injured victims underwent treatment at the Chasan Boesoerie Hospital and three minor injuries had returned to their respective families.
