Russia Affirms Ukraine's Election Is Necessary

JAKARTA- The Kremlin says elections in Ukraine are needed for legitimacy.

The United States wants Ukraine to hold elections, most likely by the end of this year, especially if Kyiv can agree to a ceasefire with Russia in the coming months, President Donald Trump's top officials in Ukraine told Reuters on Monday, February 3.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said so far there has been no serious discussion about who will participate in talks to end the conflict.
