Banten DKP Called Ombudsman Melakukan Maladministrasi Terkait Pagar Laut
The Banten province Ombudsman Representative said the Banten Marine and Fisheries Service (DKP) carried out maladministration related to the 30.16 kilometer sea fence in the Tangerang waters. They are considered slow to follow up on incoming reports.
"We state that there is maladministration," said Head of the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative for Banten Province Fadli Afriadi in a press conference broadcast on the Ombudsman's YouTube, Monday, February 3.
Fadli said the Banten Ombudsman appreciated the steps taken by the Banten DKP by conducting field visits to coordinate with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). "But it took a long time until January 22 yesterday, only the dismantling (sea fence, ed) was carried out," he said.
DKP Banten, continued Fadli, is said to have several limitations in terms of resources. However, what they are doing is considered not optimal.
"Because it took a long time to carry out the demolition and the length increased compared to when stopped," he explained.
Thus, the Banten Ombudsman asked the Banten DKP to carry out a number of things, including coordinating to encourage the threading of the sea fence, which is only 11 kilometers.
Then the Banten DKPa was asked to coordinate with the KKP and law enforcement officials. This is because it is indicated that there are use of marine spaces that should not be carried out.
Thus, law enforcement can later be implemented. "The second is to coordinate with the KKP and APH to follow up on indications of the use of marine space, both administratively and convictly as an effort to enforce the law, both administratively and convictly as an effort to enforce the law on prevention and provide a deterrent effect," said Fadli.
"We also understand that the function of regional supervision is not only DKP, but also other agencies. However, according to the law, 12 miles is indeed the responsibility of the local government," he concluded.
