Not The US, Canada Becomes The First Interception Of Kia EV5 In The North American Region

JAKARTA - Kia EV5 has stolen the attention of many parties after being introduced for the first time at the end of 2023. In addition to its futuristic design, this car has technology and distance that is no less sophisticated than its brothers such as EV6 and EV9.

With the various things offered, this car will come to several markets including Canada. However, it is likely that the SUV will not be available in other North American countries, such as the United States (US).

Launching from InsideEVs, Monday, February 3, Kia does not yet have a plan to launch EV5 to Uncle Sam's country market by not explaining the details.

Please note, Kia EV5 will be produced in two factories, namely Yancheng, China and Jurong, Singapore. It is possible that this one car has not planned to enter the US market because of the import rate on EVs from China.

However, the Canadian government implemented the same regulations as the US regarding the 100 percent import rate for Chinese-produced cars. In addition, it is not known for sure whether the EV5 for the Canadian market is the production of a bamboo curtain country or Singapore.

In addition, the price for this car is not yet hidden. Kia Canada says the EV5 will be an affordable way to get Canadians to own EVs.

However, Kia ensures that EV5 in Canada has carried the Port NACS system as in Tesla's model to facilitate access to charging in the country. In addition, this medium-sized SUV will debut in the Montreal capital country at the Canadian International Auto Show 2025 which starts on February 14.

Kia EV5 is the third electric vehicle in the Kia product line and is built on a special EV platform, E-GMP.

In the outside market, this one car is equipped with a 64 kWh battery that can run up to 530 km in one full charge, then 88 kWh for a range of 720 km in the RWD variant and 650 km for the AWD option.
