Microsoft Defender VPN Feature Will Be Removed At The End Of February

JAKARTA - On its support page, Microsoft announced that it will remove the privacy protection feature (VPN) from the Microsoft Defender app by the end of February.

The tech giant stated that the reason behind this deletion was to ensure its users remained safe online.

"We regularly evaluate the use and effectiveness of our features. Therefore, we remove privacy protection features and will invest in new areas that are more in line with customer needs," the company said.

Although privacy protection features will be removed, Microsoft insists that other features such as device protection, identity theft, and credit monitoring (US) will continue.

With the termination of this privacy protection feature, Windows, iOS, and macOS users do not need to take any action. However, Android users are advised to take action.

So, after February 28, 2025, users of the Defender app on Android must remove the VPN profile from their devices. However, if you don't remove the VPN Defender profile on Android devices, it won't have any impact on the device.
