Increasing Cases Of COVID-19 In India, Minister Of Health Budi Gunadi Reminds People To Obey Health Protocols
JAKARTA - Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin asked the public to remain vigilant and obey health protocols. Not only that, but he also asked the community to comply with the implementation of restrictions on micro-community activities (PPKM) set by the government.
This is to prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases such as what happened in India recently.
"Don't forget (the public, red) to be careful. Stay alert, run the PPKM Mikro protocol and keep washing your hands wearing masks and keeping your distance", Budi said in a press conference broadcast on YouTube's Presidential Secretariat, Monday, April 19.
He then said that the significant increase in cases in India was due to two things. First, because of a new mutation from COVID-19.
"Second, the most important thing is because they have high vaccinations, the number of confirmed cases has decreased, they are forgetful and less alert. So, they reduce regulatory health protocols", he said.
So, reflecting on the incident, the former Deputy Minister of State-Owned Corporation asked the public to remain vigilant. Because currently, various government efforts such as Micro PPKM and COVID-19 vaccination are starting to show results.
"Alhamdulillah, PPKM Mikro and the vaccination program have been able to reduce the rate of transmission of hospital occupancy conformation cases", he said.
"So please take care of ourselves, we remain vigilant, remain cautious, remain disciplined in health protocols, adhere to the PPKM Mikro rules, which in our opinion are very good", he added.
If the community continues to carry out all of this, he is sure, Indonesia will not experience additional cases like in India in the middle of the month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.
"God willing, during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, we do not have to experience what is happened in India", he concluded.
