Rupiah Potentially Weakens To Rp16,280 Per US Dollar

JAKARTA - Financial Market Observer and Commodity Ariston Tjendra said that the movement of the rupiah has the potential to weaken against the United States (US) dollar on Thursday, January 30.

Ariston said that the US Central Bank after its monetary meeting this morning conveyed a positive picture of the US economy, especially the employment situation in the US.

"These results can change market perceptions that the US Central Bank may cut its interest rates less this year," he told VOI, Thursday, January 30.

Ariston said that especially since Trump's tariff policy could trigger an increase in inflation in the US due to the increase in imported consumer goods.
