Residents Suspected Of Fires In Tamansari Which Scorched 112 Houses Due To A Husband-and-wife Quarrel
JAKARTA - Residents of fire victims on Jalan Keadilan I Tamansari, West Jakarta, suspect that the fire originated from an argument between a husband and wife in one of the rented houses.
"The fire from one of the rented houses was triggered by an argument between the husband and wife. The couple made a fuss, one of which was burning a pillow, causing it to spread to other things," said one resident named Danang, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 19.
Danang knows that family problems are the cause of the fire from posts through WhatsApp's friendship media.
"One of the couples recorded and distributed via WhatsApp," said Danang.
A rented house located in a densely populated area made the fire swell and burst in all directions, from electricity, LPG cylinders, motorbikes and even exploded, said Danang.
"I myself, even though my property was burned, but important documents can still be saved," he said
The fire in Taman Sari burned 112 houses in two RWs, although it did not cause any casualties, but several residents fell unconscious.
Regarding the cause of the fire from the husband and wife who quarreled, the Taman Sari Police Chief AKBP Iver Son Manossoh said he had not confirmed the cause. Police are still investigating.
"The point is that the investigation is still ongoing, because the results of our forensics with the West Jakarta Metro Police team are planned to do the first crime scene (crime scene) tomorrow. We cannot provide any information before this investigation is completed," said Iver.
Currently, the police are still examining witnesses, including a husband and wife who allegedly quarreled.
"The current estimate of refugees due to the fire is 1,259 people from the data collection through RT / RW. Of that number, logistical assistance has been distributed in the form of rice and instant noodles as well as blankets and mattresses," he said.
