Robert Kiyosaki Says Stock Market Will Crash And Bitcoin Prices Soar
JAKARTA - The author of the financial book Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki, has again made controversial predictions about the stock market and crypto. He warned that the stock market will experience the biggest crash in history in February 2025. This prediction is not the first time Kiyosaki has made, previously he also conveyed it in his book "Rich Dad's Prophecy" in 2013.
In the midst of his pessimism of the stock market, Kiyosaki actually showed optimism for Bitcoin (BTC). He believes that the fall of the stock market will trigger massive capital transfers to assets such as Bitcoin, gold, and silver.
"The good news is, when the market crashes, everything will be sold cheaply. Cars and houses are on discount now. The better news is that billions of dollars will come out of the stock market and bonds and switch to Bitcoin. Bitcoin will explode. Get to the ship as long as possible," Kiyosaki wrote to his 2.7 million followers on social media platform X on 27 January.

Kiyosaki's belief is based on two economic principles, namely Gresham Law and Metcalfe Law. Gresham's law states that "bad money expels good money". According to Kiyosaki, valuable assets such as gold, silver, and Bitcoin have been "hidden" from the US dollar which he considers worthless. However, now these assets are starting to be eyeed again.
Meanwhile, Metcalfe Law states that the value of a network is proportional to the square of the number of users. Kiyosaki argues, the more people who use Bitcoin, the higher the value and strength of this network will increase.
Kiyosaki even predicts the price of Bitcoin could reach 300,000 US dollars (approximately IDR 4.86 billion) in March 2024. Currently, based on CoinMarketCap data, the price of Bitcoin is in the range of 102,123.46 US dollars (IDR 1.65 billion) with market capitalization reaching 2.02 trillion US dollars (IDR 32,724 trillion).
