Head of Public Relations of the Karawang Police, Ipda Solikhin, in Karawang, Wednesday, said that the marine accident happened to fishermen from Tambaksari Village, Tirtajaya District, Karawang, who were looking for fish at sea at that time.
Quoting ANTARA on Wednesday, January 29, there were two boats that were hit by the big waves in the northern waters of Karawang. The first boat was boarded by two fishermen, namely Tibil and Udin. As a result of being hit by a big wave and sinking, Tibil was found floating in the middle of the sea in a lifeless condition. Meanwhile, Udin was declared missing.
Meanwhile, three fishermen from the second boat managed to survive after receiving help. But one person from the second boat was in critical condition.

Solikhin said that the marine accident that happened to fishermen from Karawang began when fishermen from Tambaksari Village, Tirtajaya District, went to sea at 5.30 WIB. Arriving in the middle of the sea at around 8.30 WIB their boat had a leak after being hit by the waves.
"The weather is not good, but they still insist on looking for fish," he said.
After receiving the incident report, his party immediately dispatched officers to provide assistance. However, due to bad weather, rescue efforts were hampered.
According to him, the second boat, which was in the same location, also had an accident due to the waves. It's just that the three fishermen who boarded the boat were rescued.
