Paulus Tannos Has A Guinean Passport, Menkum: Citizenship Status Is Clear
JAKARTA - Minister of Law Andi Supratman Andi Agtas is reluctant to question the fugitive in the e-KTP corruption case, Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin, who has a Guinea Bissau diplomatic passport.
According to him, Paulus Tannos' citizenship status is clear. The fugitive from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
"No, for us, this state status is clear that the person concerned is," Supratman told reporters, Wednesday, January 29.
Moreover, Paulus Tannos had proposed to change his citizenship status twice. Thus, it is proof that the man whose real name is Thian Po Tjhin is a foreigner
"And the Director General of AHU has asked the person concerned to complete the document. But until today the requested document has never been conveyed. That means that the person concerned is still an Indonesian citizen," he said.
Regarding the possibility that Guinea will participate in applying for extradition, Supratman is also reluctant to convey in detail. However, it is emphasized that the Singaporean authorities have cooperated with the initial request from the Indonesian government.

"That's technical, technical. But in principle again, now the Singapore government is very cooperative. With the requests made by KPK friends, the person concerned has now been detained," he said.
Supratman believes that Paulus Tannos' extradition process to Indonesia will be completed in the near future. Currently, the relevant agencies are completing the required documents.
It is known that the Indonesian government has had 45 days or March 3, 2025 since the arrest of Paulus Tannos. The deadline is related to the process of fulfilling the extradition request document.
"Well, in my opinion, we still have time, hopefully pray. Not until March 3, even much shorter," said Supratman.
