Tjahjo Kumolo Fires ASN Radikal, Tengku Zul Sewot: Radicals Who Are Active Koran, Hanging Pants
JAKARTA - The Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) Tjahjo Kumolo admits that he is reluctant to fire dozens of state civil servants (ASN).
This is because they are proven to have violated statutory provisions because they are exposed to radicalism, terrorism, using illegal drugs, and corruption.
Tjahjo's confession received a response from former MUI Deputy Chief of Staff, Tengku Zulkarnain. Through his Twitter account, @ustadtengkuzul, Tengku Zul doubted that Minister Tjahjo understood the meaning of radicalism.
"Don't think that you are radical because you pray 5 times at the mosque, you are active in recitation, wear hanging pants, wear a beard, wear a long veil (women)," explained Tengku Zul, Monday, April 19.
"The government is obliged to evaluate the Minister's words ..." continued Tengku Zul.

According to Minister Tjahjo, the government has made various efforts to prevent corruption with a circular letter from the KemenPAN-RB, State Civil Service Agency, to coordinate with the Corruption Eradication Commission.
"I am sad that almost every month in Bapeg meetings we generally have to decide 30-40 people who have to make decisions to be fired, disabled, to be demoted for violating matters related to radicalism, terrorism, drugs, areas prone to corruption, "said Tjahjo in a virtual discussion, Sunday, April 18.
Therefore, in the future KemenPAN-RB will increase the professionalism of ASN.
"Starting from the control of the ASN wealth report every year, handling conflicts of interest, whistle blowing system, and managing public complaints through SP4N reports that have been integrated with many government agencies," he explained.
