There Is No Criminal Indication Yet, Police Wait For KKP Investigation Regarding The Tangerang Sea Pagar
TANGERANG (TANGERANG) The Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) Polda Metro Jaya is still waiting for the results of an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) related to the 30.16 km fence case in the waters of Tangerang Regency.
The Director of Polair Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Joko Sadono, stated that an investigation in the field had been carried out, but so far no indication of a criminal act has been found.
"We are only investigating what is in the field, whether there is a criminal act or not. However, because this case has been taken over by the KKP, we are waiting for the results from them," Joko told reporters, Tuesday, January 28.
He also added that if the results of the KKP investigation lead to allegations of criminal acts, then the KKP together with other law enforcement officers can follow up on the case.
"If the results of the investigation from the KKP find a criminal act, maybe the Minister can continue with other law enforcement agencies," he explained.
Separately, the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD, urged the criminal law process against the issuance of a Building Use Certificate (SHGB) and a Certificate of Ownership (SHM) related to the case of a sea fence in Tangerang Regency.
According to Mahfud, revocation of certificates alone is not enough, because this case involves serious violations of the law.
The illegal HGB certificate for the sea cannot be canceled, but must be punished because it is a collusion product that violates the law. Constitutional Court Decision No. 3/PUU-VIII/2010 and Law no. 1 of 2014 clearly prohibits the exploitation of coastal waters by the private sector or individuals. This case is different from reclamation," said Mahfud through his X account, @MohmahfudMD.

Mahfud suspects that there are conspiracy, collusion, and corruption in the case of sea fencing. He encouraged law enforcement officials to act decisively immediately, not only to dismantle the fence but also to thoroughly investigate all parties involved.
"Seagaring cases must be immediately declared as criminal acts, not just acts of dismantling fences. Immediately carry out investigations and investigations. There are allegations of natural grabbing, issuance of illegal certificates, as well as collusion and corruption," said Mahfud.
