Radja Nainggolan Arrested By Police For Cocaine Smuggling, This Is The Lokeren-Temse Club's Response

JAKARTA The Lokeren-Temse Belgian club, where Radja Nainggolan currently has a career, has provided clarification regarding the case that ensnared his new player. Nainggolan was reportedly arrested by Brussels Police, Belgium, on suspicion of involvement in a cocaine smuggling case.

The news about Nainggolan's arrest was first reported by the Belgian media on Monday, January 27, 2025. After the news emerged, Lokeren-Temse immediately released an official statement responding to this situation.

In his statement, the club emphasized that it would continue to prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence regarding the case that befell the 36-year-old player.

"The club respects the principle of presumption of innocence and therefore cannot provide further comment," the Lokeren-Temse official statement said, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Tuesday, January 28.

Although he did not provide further details, the club confirmed that Nainggolan would not play in the upcoming matches. In addition, the former AS Roma player was also reportedly absent from the team's morning training session.

"We can only confirm that players are absent from the morning training session. The club will refocus on facing an important league match against KAS Eupen. Radja Nainggolan will not play in that match," the Lokeren-Temse wrote.

The name Radja Nainggolan began to stick out when he appeared impressively with Italian Serie A club Cagliari. His consistent performance made him recruited by AS Roma, where he became one of the key players. Nainggolan was recorded four times as part of the Serie A selected team.

After shining in AS Roma, he moved to Inter Milan and won the Italian League title. However, over time, his career has decreased.

In addition to playing in the Italian League, Nainggolan had surprised the Indonesian football public by joining Bhayangkara FC in Liga 1. He also played futsal before returning to Belgium to strengthen the Lokeren-Temse.
