Innovation As A Way To Proud Of Local Culture And Value Of Togetherness In Bali

JAKARTA - The Island of the Gods, Bali is known for its cultural wealth, but its position as a world tourist destination that attracts the interest of national and foreign tourists, poses a challenge in itself.

Bali with its traditions and customs, is prone to cultural erosion, where local values are in society, it is not impossible to disappear.

Therefore, novelty and innovation are important to ensure that various traditions in Bali survive.

Ida Bagus Ratu Antoni Putra alias Monez, a visual artist from Bali, said that local culture is an important thing to raise to the surface. Innovation is a way to maintain what has existed in Bali for a long time can remain relevant.

"In Bali, as a tourist destination, we don't just hang out with the locals, but also from national and international. And this local culture is very important to be appointed," said Monez when met in Seminyak, Badung on Saturday, January 25.

"It's very good that there are brands that raise local culture, so that the things that become good values of local culture can be known by more people," he continued.

In this case, Monez with her skills as an illustrator, displays the mural works exhibited at Warung Made Kuta. This work comes through cooperation in the launch of the Arak Jeruk & Madu Star on the Island of the Gods.

"This collaboration is a good opportunity to combine Balinese culture with more modern innovations," he said.

The mural raised the theme of togetherness. Monez said that wine as one of the typical Balinese dishes is commonly found when people gather.

"We have a traditional system, where association and assembly are indeed daily from the Balinese people. For example, there is a traditional ceremony, there is a gathering in terms of customs, togetherness becomes a core of local culture. I think when Bintang raises that theme, it's very interesting, that's why I'm very excited about this project," said Monez.

He also sees this new variant as a breakthrough, when the values of local traditions meet modern innovations.

"Which is unique, apart from us raising the themes of togetherness, I also thank the team because I was given the flexibility to devote my expression, my design style, and my colors," he said.

In addition to Monez, this launch also involved the owner of Warung Made, Ni Made Masih.

The culinary entrepreneur who started his business in Kuta is considered capable of making people from various countries to gather to eat Balinese special dishes in his place.

Some people call (Warung Made) a meeting spot. This makes me like magic. That's what we created, people who come once, already have grandchildren who still come. They miss this place, because this is a meeting spot, and the atmosphere we make as comfortable as possible for them to come back," said Ni Made.

Sementara itu, Jessica Setiawan selaku Marketing Director Multi Bintang Indonesia mengatakan, pihaknya membuat varian baru ini sebagai apresiasi atas hubungan baik mereka dengan Pulau Bali yang sudah terjarang lama.

Our history and our relationship with Bali have been around for a long time. This relationship has been around for decades. When we have a new variant, we want to be exclusive in Bali, want to be unique on this island," said Jessica.

Furthermore, Jessica hopes that the collaboration of these three parties can involve more elements of other irregularities, to maintain and innovate Indonesian culture.

"We are very proud of this, because it is inspired by Balinese culture, even bigger missions, the hope is that we can involve more legends in Bali and Indonesia as something we can be proud of. Uniquely, we are in Indonesia, we always respect our traditions, while we also want to develop them," he concluded.
