Gading Joedo: The Form Of Continuity Of PT Orbit Terminal Merak In Community Empowerment

JAKARTA - PT Orbit Terminal Merak (OTM), which is a company that provides and leases fuel oil tanks (BBM) to maintain commitment and continuity in empowering the surrounding community through social social responsibility programs or corporate social responsibility (CSR).

This was stated directly by the President Director of PT OTM, Gading Ramadhan Joedo when opening the 'Charity of PT Orbit Terminal Merak: Sharing Virtue, Building Happiness', in Lebak Gede, Cilegon, Tuesday, January 21.

On this occasion, PT OTM distributed 500 food packages for the people of RW 07 Lebak Gede Village, Cilegon, Banten. This has been routinely done by PT OTM in the last 10 years. Present to receive symbolically representatives from each category such as single mothers, orphans, community leaders, and foster children.

The provision of basic necessities is a routine program carried out by PT OTM which is carried out twice a year. Apart from the beginning of the year, the basic food distribution program is also routinely carried out during Ramadan.

This program is a stimulus of the five pillars of the company's CSR program. PT OTM has five pillars of the program, namely education, religion, social and culture, infrastructure and health, and empowerment of local communities. The main focus of PT OTM in community empowerment is to provide foster programs for elementary, junior high school, and high school students.

"We continue to strive to maintain the company's commitment to carrying out social responsibility through routine programs every year and also our other contribution to the community around PT Orbit Terminal Merak," said Gading Ramadhan Joedo when giving a speech.

According to Gading Joedo, the PT OTM programs can also be held because of the active role of the local government which always supports it. Assistance from PT OTMi is not always the top-down, but bottom-up because it accommodates the aspirations of residents facilitated by the government, especially the Chairman of RW 07 and the Head of Lebak Gede Village.

One of the programs that emerged from the aspirations of the community was the distribution of clean water and the donation of 4 tons of water toren. The assistance was given to residents of Cipala Village in November 2024. At that time, PT OTM also donatedframe infrastructure for one of the mosques and carried out OTM Teaching or Upskilling Competency.

We really care about community empowerment. Currently, we have 24 foster children. In fact, from several previous foster programs, some have worked at PT OTM. We are also synergizing with surrounding corporate associations to facilitate employment if any of our foster children have qualifications, but in this company there are no vacancies," said Triantoro Sarwoto, Terminal Manager of PT OTM.

The Head of Pulomerak Sub-district, Hoero Sanjaya, appreciated what PT OTM had done in empowering the surrounding community.

"Hopefully, in the future, PT OTM can have wider coverage of its assistance, not only in Lebak Gede Village, but also in three other urban villages, namely Mekarsari, Suralaya, and Tamansari," said Hoero Sanjaya.

Responding to the warning of the Pulomerak sub-district head, Gading Joedo admitted that PT OTM had designed it to be able to contribute more to the wider coverage of the aid area.

"Hopefully the people's hope that PT OTM will contribute more quickly so that we can bring more benefits to Indonesia, especially for the surrounding community," said Gading Joedo.
