Unand Chancellor Make Sure There Is No Tolerance Of Lecturers Who Do Plagiarism
PADANG - Rector of Andalas University, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Efa Yonnedi, expressed a firm stance that plagiarism will not be tolerated within the college environment he leads.
"Our stance is firm because Unand prioritizes and maintains academic integrity," said Unand Chancellor Efa Yonnedi in response to a lecturer who was proven to have plagiarism and has been sanctioned in Padang, Sunday, as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, January 26.
The Chancellor said that when he first heard about information on alleged plagiarism by one of the lecturers, his party immediately formed a Code of Ethics Enforcement Commission consisting of 13 people to investigate the allegation.
This commission has completed its duties in gathering facts and evidence related to alleged plagiarism on August 15, 2024. Although this team was formed by internal faculty, the results of investigations and conclusions and recommendations have been approved by university leaders.
"After being investigated, it was proven that there was plagiarism and the person concerned admitted it," said Unand Chancellor.

"We hope that in the future there will be no more cases of lecturers doing plagiarism because it tarnishes institutions and the face of education," he said.
