Minister Of Culture Fadli Zon Signs Indonesia-India Cultural Exchange Program 2025-2028
New Delhi Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, officially signed the agreement for the Indonesia-India Cultural Exchange Program (Cultural Exchange Program) for the period 2025-2028. This signing took place during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, to India in celebration of the 76th Day of the Republic of India in New Delhi.
The collaboration signed with India's Minister of Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, aims to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries in various fields, such as performing arts, literature, museums, history, archeology, films, and traditional knowledge. This agreement is rooted in a cultural agreement that has been established since December 29, 1955.
"Indonesia and India will work together in cultural exhibitions, exchange museum collections, as well as training in the fields of conservation and museology. We will also facilitate youth participation in art festivals, competitions, and film production," said Fadli Zon, Saturday, January 25.
The program also includes the exchange of artists in dance, music, theater, and other performing arts, as well as research and training collaboration in the fields of history, archeology, and cultural heritage conservation.

Fadli Zon emphasized the long historical and cultural relationship between Indonesia and India, which began in the 4th century AD. "This path of history can be seen from the influence of Hindu-Buddha culture and Sanskrit language in Indonesia. Through this collaboration, we are trying to protect cultural and traditional heritage," he explained.
This agreement is also a strategic foundation for the repatriation efforts of cultural objects listed in Kashi Cultural Pathway at the G20 meeting in India in 2023. "We support inclusive dialogue regarding the return of cultural objects to strengthen diplomatic relations," concluded Fadli Zon.
With this collaboration, Fadli hopes that Indonesia and India's cultural relations will be closer, as well as an example of cultural diplomacy for other countries.
