DPR Proposes Moge To Enter Toll Roads To Increase State Revenue
JAKARTA - Wakil Ketua Komisi V DPR RI, Andi Iwan Darmawan Aras, mengusulkan agar motor gede (Moge) diizinkan masuk ke jalan tol.

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR RI, Andi Iwan Darmawan Aras, suggested that big motorbikes (Moge) be allowed to enter toll roads. Because the policy is considered to be able to increase state revenue.
"Just input, what we have the potential to see, Moge, in this case, for example a escort motorbike, can enter. If you can say that nothing is different from other big motorbikes," Andi said when contacted, Saturday, January 25.
According to Andi, the consideration of big motorbikes being able to enter the toll road is related to income apart from four-wheeled vehicles. He assessed that motorbikes would also not damage the toll road structure.
"My consideration is actually only as one of our toll road market share, the potential for toll road revenue which then I don't think has a very bad impact on toll roads," said Andi.
"Because it's not too heavy and unlike big logistics vehicles. Of course it depends on the condition of the road. If this big motorbike tends, I don't think it's damaging, I just need to make rules. The rules are how to keep driving orderly," continued the Gerindra politician.

According to Andi, the potential for state revenue from moge on toll roads is very large. "I don't know how many motorbikes in Indonesia there are. For example, if we just calculate the potential, how much is there in Indonesia, if they use toll road facilities, it will certainly increase toll road revenue itself," he said.
"That's the correlation, of course, with income, even income to the state as well. To toll roads managed by the state," he added.
Andi assessed that motorbike drivers are safer if they drive via toll roads rather than regular roads. He hopes that the Moge rider can be an example of another driver for how to ride the right motorbike.
"About getting to the toll road, if the rules are made by toll road managers or Korlantas or the Minister of Transportation, for example, how can they walk on toll roads in a safe way, I think this is one of my potential considerations," he said.
