Pertamina Refinery Records 52.6 Million Safe Working Hours Throughout 2024

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) ensures that the refinery can operate safely with a record Safe Working Hours throughout 2024.

"Throughout 2024, the operation unit and the KPI project recorded 52.6 million Working Hours Safe," said KPI Corporate Secretary Hermansyah Y Nasroen, Saturday, January 25.

According to Hermansyah, the achievement of this Safe Working Hour is also a sign of KPI's credibility in managing oil refineries.

"The implementation of HSSE in the KPI business process is not only carried out through increasing its facilities and infrastructure, but also carried out through the HSSE cultural internalization program starting from the front liner level to the highest leadership," explained Hermansyah.

Currently, KPI continues to disburse the Safety Leadership Program 4.0. This program is intended to foster a safe culture within everyone.

"Strong safe culture has two main components, namely technical and non-technical. Technical components include mastery of work safety standards and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as other equipment. Meanwhile, non-technical aspects involve communication values, leadership and safety values embedded in each individual," explained Hermansyah.

To further foster this safety culture, KPI also commemorates the 2025 Health & Work Safety Month (K3). Warning is not only carried out at the Head Office, but also in all units of KPI operations.

"Security and compliance with HSSE aspects must not stop at the K3 Month, but must be the pulse of every company activity. Through this momentum, we want to ensure that all elements of the company prioritize safety, health, and operational sustainability," said the President Director of KPI, Taufik Aditiyawarman.

Taufik also emphasized that the success of HSSE implementation contributed directly to the company's business sustainability while at the same time supporting national energy security.

"Take advantage of the K3 Month to strengthen the network with stakeholders, so that this collaboration has a positive impact on companies in facing future business challenges," he added.
