The Body Of A 10-year-old Boy Drowning In The Niru Muara Enim River Found 1.5 Km From A Lost Point

The joint SAR team evacuated the body of Nurhalimah (10), a resident of Aur Duri Village who drowned missing in the Niru River, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), since Wednesday, January 22 at around 15.00 WIB.

He said the boy who was still in elementary school drowned while bathing in the Niru River, Aur Duri Village, Rambang Niru District with seven friends.

"Two people are known to have been swept away by the river current, but one victim was rescued," he said.

In the search for Nurhalimah, his party was assisted by a team from the Palembang Basarnas, Muara Enim Fire Department personnel, Babinsa and the community to find the victim's whereabouts by walking along the river.

At least one unit of a viber boat and two units of engined boats were deployed so that the search for victims could be maximized.

The search also involved a team of divers with complete equipment to dive into the river starting from the first point of drowning victims.

In fact, officers in the field assisted by the surrounding community conducted a sweep by walking on the edge along the river flow around the crime scene (TKP).

The victim was found dead floating in a river about 1.5 kilometers from the starting point of the drowning victim.

"Currently, the victim's body has been taken to the funeral home for burial by the family," he said.
