Early Black Sabbath Personnel Get Honorary Titles From The Birmingham City Council
JAKARTA - The initial four Black Sabbath personnel - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Terence "Geezer" Butler, and Bill Ward - will receive the honorary title Cityappropriation from the Birmingham City Council.
As is known, Black Sabbath started its musical journey from Birmingham, England in 1968.
Meanwhile, City life's honorary title was given in recognition of the people who have contributed to the city, which is one of the oldest traditional ceremonies in the UK.
Board member Sharon Thompson as deputy leader of the city council said it was time for Black Sabbath personnel to receive this honorary title.
"Birmingham has a fantastic musical culture, and Black Sabbath is the main part of that history, a pioneering band that still affects today's musicians. They have become synonymous with the city and have been true ambassadors throughout their phenomenal careers," Thompson said, citing Blabbermouth, Friday, January 24.
"Giving this award to the legends of Birmingham would be the perfect way to thank them for everything they've done for the city," he continued.
In response to the honorary title that will be given by the Birmingham City Council, four initial Black Sabbath personnel were unable to cover up their pride and gratitude.

Ozzy commented, "I am honored, and at the same time surprised that I was ever considered for this very special award. I am a proud Brummie of Aston completely. I am still surprised to this day that no one outside Birmingham can understand a word of what I said, but it always makes me laugh. I started with just a dream, which I shared with Tony, ester, and Bill. We never gave up on that dream. My only regret is that my mother and father weren't here to see what I've accomplished."
Then, Tony said, "I'm very happy. It's been an extraordinary honor to be Cityai. I know very little has been given. This award connects us with the history of our hometown, Birmingham, and that's great. I'm very grateful for this confession."
Subsequently, estery said, "It is an extraordinary honor to be awarded the city of my hometown, the great city of Birmingham. Growing up in Aston, I cannot expect a better childhood, from the best schools, friendly neighbors and friends for life, and of course the world's greatest football team, Aston Villa. Birmingham has given to the world some of the greatest discoveries and innovations, in science, industry, arts, literature, music, and all walks of life. And without Birmingham, the world would be a much poorer place. Thank you, fellow Brummies citizens, for this extraordinary honor."
Meanwhile, Bill said, "Thank you, Mayor and Council of Birmingham City. For our legendary fans, last respects. Long live Black Sabbath."
