BMW Motorrad Dedicates Refreshment R 18, Take A Peek At The Changes
JAKARTA - BMW Motorrad has officially provided an update to one of its best-selling models of R 18 which focuses on design, convenience and technology.
BMW Motorrad's Head of Boxer Series, Markus Lederer said the goal of updating the R 18 model was to increase a pleasant driving taste by perfecting the design and other technical refreshments.
"We have perfected the design style, added many improvements in terms of detail and comfort and made R 18 even more fun to drive," said Lederer on BMW Motorrad's official website, Thursday, January 23.
BMW R 18 now features a new design for front and rear wheel covers as well as 18-inch rear rims and the latest wheel design featuring seven double radii.
The German manufacturer also provides the Contrast Cut Wheels as an optional with aluminum wheels filled with glossy poles and then sealed with a clear finishing with a combination of wheels of radius 19 /16 still available as an option.
The sepabor section now has a more modern and dynamic look with a higher surface. Then, the side covering fits perfectly with this design style with a more prominent side contour.
Modern impressions are also emitted on the suspension and fork tube without a classic fork casing. Another feature that is in line with a more dynamic design style is the new sound damping with a new circular cross section and a new design individual seat with 10 mm thicker foam and modified design contours.

Meanwhile, the update also applies to R 18 Classic with the latest adopted front line of R 18 B along with the front wheels of the 19-inch radius. The cross section is now equipped with a significantly lowered sepabor extension to provide a different style effect.
The new Sepabor is not only in line with the fork casings that are still available for R 18 Classic, but also confidently underlines its affiliates with the nostalgic touring segment.
For the choice of Blacked Out, BMW R 18 and R 18 Classic have a more exclusive and elegant look than other versions in Black High Gloss and Dark Chrome colors.
The latest BMW R 18 has revised from a technical point of view with a 91-hp powered 1.802 cc engine with an increase in torque 5 Nm to 163 Nm, so drivers can feel an extraordinary driving sensation for this boxer motor.
