Microsoft's Head Of Business Development Officially Resigns

JAKARTA - Microsoft's head of business development, Chris Young has officially resigned from his position at the company, after serving for about four years.

The news was delivered directly by Microsoft in a letter submitting regulations to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday, January 22.

On January 22, 2025, Christopher D. Young told Microsoft Corporation about his decision to resign from the company, Microsoft wrote in the letter.

The SEC's filing did not mention the reason Young resigned. The submission also states that Chris will still work and be responsible for his position at least until the end of March

"The Executive President for Business, Strategy and Investment Development, which takes effect immediately. He will remain an employee of the Company to provide transitional support and carry out additional responsibilities until the end of March," he concluded.

Young joined Microsoft in 2020 after almost three years as CEO of McAfee. Previously, he had also held executive positions in Cisco and RSA.

"We are very grateful for the significant impact Chris has had on Microsoft over the past four years," a spokesperson told TechCrunch.

According to the spokesman, during his tenure, Chris led hundreds of strategic partnerships, fostered an innovation culture, and laid the groundwork for our growth in the future.

"We support Chris' decision to pursue a new business," he continued.
