Kenshi Yonezu Releases Plasma For Mobile Suit Song Gundam GQuuuuuuuuuX -Beginning-
JAKARTA - The shining J-pop artist, Kenshi Yonezu, released a new 'Plazma,' single which is also the official theme song for the film Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuuuX -Beginning-.
This song features evocative vocals from Yonezu along with high tempo synth and electronic rhythm, in accordance with the vibrant mecha universe and epic space combat. This song is the latest work from a series of theme songs released by Yonezu after its contribution to The Boy and the Heron by Hayao Miyazaki, the video game Final Fantasy XVI, and its hit theme global song for the Chainsaw Man series.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuX -Beginning- premiered in 426 theaters, including the IMAX film in Japan on January 17, as a rededited version and consists of several episodes. The anime is scheduled to premiere on television in 2025 worldwide.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuuX -Beginning has been a big hit, garnering more than 598 million yen (3,829,801 USD) at the box office and attracting more than 350,000 viewers in just 3 days, occupying the top spot in the X-strend chart throughout the day, with many enthusiastic comments posted online awaiting the release of the new song Yonezu Plazma today, in conjunction with the release of the song, a new promotional video has been released on Gundam's official YouTube channel.

The 'Plazma' is a song written, composed, and arranged by Yonezu. Its art cover is drawn by Yonezu itself, an illustration of Amate Yuzuriha (Machu) and Nyaan, two main characters of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuuuuuX -Beginning-. Yonezu announced the release of the Plazma on the eve of the opening of the 2025 Japanese tour, delivered the new song live and provided an exclusion preview of the never-released song to fans.
Completing the big year of 2024, including the release of its sixth studio album LOST CORNER, Yonezu started in 2025 with a series of extensive Japanese tour dates before preparing for its first international tour across Asia, Europe and the United States, with stops at the well-known Radio City Music Hall in New York City and YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.
