Allegedly The Rise Of Drug Circulation, North Kalimantan Police Chief Tinjau Kampung Free Of Drugs At The Coastal Selumit

TARAKAN - The Head of the North Kalimantan Regional Police (Kapolda) Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto returned to visit the Selumit Pantai area which was previously used as a Drug-Free Village area in Tarakan City.

The visit of the Kapolda accompanied by the main officials of the Kaltara Police to ensure that the Kampung Selumit Pantai, which has been known as one of the largest drug trafficking centers in Kaltara, has actually been repaired.

"We are aware that security doesn't just come. This is the result of a synergy between the community and the security forces. Thank you to all Tarakan residents, especially Kampung Selumit Pantai," said Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto, Wednesday, January 22.

In the discussion of the Kapolda with the community, it was revealed that the circulation in the Coastal Selumit spreads drugs to other RTs outside RT 12.

Therefore, it is necessary to add personnel to strengthen security amid the increasing population in the area.

"We are aware of the current limitations of personnel. Therefore, we want to involve the community as partners in maintaining security and social order, and actively providing information related to criminal acts," said the Kapolda.

Kapolda juga menekankan pentingnya kerja sama seluruh elemen masyarakat untuk menghapus stigma negatif Selumit Pantai sebagai mall narkoba.

He invited the leaders to jointly turn this village into a beautiful, healthy and comfortable area.

"We are collaborating with the government and various parties to reorganize the Coastal Selumit Village. This is not only the role of the Police, but also all elements of society. Together, we can change this bad image," he said.

In the discussion, the Head of RT 10 also suggested that joint raids be carried out in a sustainable manner and asked attention to the supervision of drug recidivist.

Responding to this, the Kapolda explained that the Kaltara Police managed to uncover the circulation of 250 kilograms of drugs, as well as build cooperation with the Indonesian Consulate in Tawau and Customs and Excise to tighten supervision.

Previously, the area of the drug village in Selumit Pantai was again found to have methamphetamine-type narcotics transactions, although previously the Head of BNN Komjen Martinus Hukom had visited some time ago.

This time, five people were found by Tarakan BNNK personnel when they were about to make a crystal methamphetamine transaction on Wednesday, January 15.

Drug transactions in Selumit Beach Village, Central Tarakan have started to actively return to serve the sale and purchase of methamphetamine so that Tarakan BNNK personnel will again monitor the location.

The five people who were arrested admitted that they came to the location to buy methamphetamine. They are former drug abusers with the category of recurrence users.

BNNK officers conducted a re-essment for the outpatient rehabilitation mechanism.
