Carlo Ancelotti Turns Out To Deny News Leaving Real Madrid At The End Of The Season

Carlo Ancelotti has apparently denied that he has decided to leave Real Madrid at the end of this season.

As is known, the Italian coach's news separates from Los Blancos earlier than the contract should be busy being discussed.

Spanish radio station Onda Cero reported on Monday, January 20, 2025, that Ancelotti - whose contract is valid until 2026 - has decided to move this summer, despite Real Madrid winning many trophies this season.

However, when confirmed again on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in a press conference ahead of the Champions League match against RB Salzburg, the 65-year-old coach denied.

"No. I want to explain very clearly. I will not decide the date of departure from this club," said Ancelotti.

"I knew the day would come. However, when will that day come? I don't know. I won't decide."

"It could be tomorrow, after the next game, in a year, or in five years."

"I have a target. Florentino (Perez) is here for another four years. He knows me well. The target is to be here for four years."

"We can go out with great love in the world!" said Ancelotti with a smile, after Perez was re-elected President of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are at the top of the La Liga standings, two points ahead of Atletico Madrid and seven points from Barcelona.

They have won two trophies this season, the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup (World Cup Club).

However, Los Blancos also faced criticism from fans and the media after being beaten twice by BarMA, 0-4 in La Liga in October 2024 and 2-5 in the Spanish Super Cup finals in Saudi Arabia last week.

"I feel very loved (here) in everything, by fans, by the club, and by the media."

"Sometimes a lot of things are exaggerated, but I want to remain objective and follow my path," said Ancelotti.

Real Madrid have suffered several important defeats in the Champions League this season. They lost to Lille, AC Milan, and Liverpool and managed to beat Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta.

The next trip is to host Salzburg at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid are targeting to finish in the last eight - a straight path to the knockout stages - which seems impossible considering they have only packed nine points from six matches.

"We don't have many chances, but the only chance we have is to win the remaining two games."

"If we have to play in the playoffs, we will do our best. It's a busy schedule, but we're used to it," said Ancelotti.

After fighting Salzburg, Real Madrid will travel to Brest headquarters in the final match of the Champions League group stage, January 30, 2025.
