Ukrainian President Sets Time To Meet Donald Trump
JAKARTA - Ukraine is working to arrange a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and US President Donald Trump.
"The teams are working on a meeting, they are in the process," Zelenskiy said of efforts to arrange a meeting with Trump.
He spoke in an interview panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, reported by Reuters, Monday, January 21.
Trump, who took office on Monday, said he would stop the war in Ukraine as soon as possible without informing him of how.
Zelenskiy said Ukraine would not approve Russia's demands to drastically reduce its military numbers, and estimated that Russian President Vladimir Putin would ask Ukraine to reduce its military number by a fifth of their number.
"This is what he wants. We will not let this happen," Zelenskiy said.

In his speech, Zelenskiy said Europe should make itself a strong global player, able to guarantee peace and security for itself and for others. He argues that Europe has a smaller influence on Washington as the United States views the contribution of its allies to security as lacking.
"Is anyone in the United States worried that Europe will leave them one day may stop being their allies? The answer is no," Zelenskiy said.
