Support The Corn Planting Program A Million Hectares, Polda Kaltara Prepares 9,200 Hectares Of Land

TANJUNG SELOR - The Regional Police (Polda) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) carried out a Simultaneous Corn Planting program of One Million Hectar on land for farmer groups in Gunung Putih Village, Tanjung Palas District, Bulungan Regency.

This activity is the result of synergy between the National Police, the TNI, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Kaltara, the Bulungan Regency Government (Pemkab), the Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Association (GAPKI), Perum Perhutani, the private sector, and local farmers.

North Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto said the planting of 1 million hectares of corn was carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

"In Kaltara, the Regional Police together with Forkompimda planted corn seeds on an area of 1 hectare (ha). For this initial stage, planting was carried out at 28 points in the Kaltara area with a total land area of 59.795 ha with 535.97 kg of corn seedlings," said the Kapolda, Tuesday, January 21.

"This program is a tangible manifestation of cross-sectoral collaboration, the Kaltara Police is targeting the area of corn planting land in Kaltara covering an area of 9,200 hectares," he continued.

The Kapolda emphasized the importance of the sustainability of this program in order to have a real impact on the community. For this reason, after in Bulungan Regency, corn seed planting will also be carried out in stages at the Polres in Kaltara.

"This is in accordance with the instructions, the National Police is focused on planting corn. For the TNI to focus on planting rice. However, in practice we will collaborate," he said.

Currently, the National Police is not only focused on maintaining security and order, but also in other sectors such as agriculture, to support the welfare of the community.

This step is taken as an effort to realize food self-sufficiency in the regions while at the same time supporting national food security.

"It doesn't stop at the planting process, later we will carry out maintenance and ensure the distribution process cooperates with Bulog as well as accommodate corn yields from farmers," he explained.

The Kapolda also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have actively contributed to this program.

"We will synergize with the TNI and related agencies, hopefully this spirit will continue to be maintained," he said.

Bulungan Police: 7 points covering an area of 36.675 hectares and 462.12 kg of corn seedlings. The Tanjung Palas Utara area is the largest location with an area of 30 hectares and 450 kg of corn seedlings.

Nunukan Police: 8 points covering an area of 9.59 hectares and 29.35 kg of corn seedlings. West Sebatik is the area with the largest land, which is 5 hectares.

Tarakan Police: 3 points covering an area of 2.6 hectares and 2.5 kg of corn seedlings, with the main location at the North Tarakan Police.

Tana Tidung Police: 3 points covering an area of 2.66 hectares and 14.4 kg of corn seedlings, with the Sesayap area as the main point.

Malinau Police: 7 points covering an area of 8.27 hectares and 27.6 kg of corn seedlings. The South Malinau area is the largest location with an area of 5.04 hectares.
